The Hindu Temple is located at 13010 Arbor Street in West Omaha, Nebraska. It has been serving the Hindu community in the Omaha and Lincoln areas since 1993, with the traditional temple construction completed in 2004.

    • Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM.
    • Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

 

  • Cafeteria: Open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

 

History and facilities:

  • History: The temple was founded in 1993 after the local Hindu population grew over several decades. It was built in two phases, with the initial building renovated from a former restaurant and the traditional Hindu temple structure added later.
  • Facilities: The temple complex includes the traditional Hindu temple, a social hall, and a library. The social hall is available for rent for special events.
  • Sant Sadan: The temple also includes a "Hall of Saints" to celebrate prominent saints and serve as a center for learning and spiritual discourse. 

 

Community and services:

  • Priesthood: The temple is served by priests who can perform a variety of rituals and services.
  • Classes and Events: The temple hosts various activities, including yoga classes on Wednesdays, Sunday School for children, and cultural events with the Indian Association of Omaha. Upcoming and past events are often listed on its website.
