ANMA/NASeA - Logo Contest 15.03.2008
CALLING ALL ARTISTS (We have $100 to give out for a creative head)!!

Do YOU have what it takes to be a part of history?

The Nebraska Nepalese Society is hosting the Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA) and Nepalese Association of Southeastern America (NASeA) joint convention (Collectively called "ANMA-NASeA Joint Convention 2008") in your very own Omaha, Nebraska!

But...we don't have a logo.

That's right, every convention has a logo, and we don't have one yet. So we need YOUR help.

And guess what? It comes with a perk. Ahem...$100!!

That's right. ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. That's Rs. 6490 if you are going to Nepal (current exchange rate). It's also 95 McChicken Sandwiches from McDonalds, 309473097340173 items at Walmart, one tank of gas and 0.26% of my Creighton tuition (but that's besides the point).

Requirement of Logos:
-Logo should reflect Unity/Peace of Nepalese in the Americas with a hint of Omaha/NE
-Size: Any shape. Any color. Size: small enough to fit on top of page.
-Choice of Colors (not mandatory, preferable) – attempt to include Husker Red, Fall Colors (Pumpkin color, Rust)
-Need Design Files (files from actual Photoshop or whatever software is used for scaling purposes)

Please submit your design to me at sopnilbhattarai@creighton.edu.

The Sponsors, Marketing and Advertisement Team will evaluate the logos individually and determine the 5 best out of all. Then the Nebraska Nepalese Community members can visit the web site and vote for the best one! The winner of this poll receives $100!

The deadline for submission is March 15 at 11:59 PM. The Voting Begins March 17 and ends March 18 (48 hours to vote).

Winner will be announced on the NNS web site on March 19, and will be awarded the prize money and recognition at the NNS Nepali New Year Celebration!

So get your creative head together and be part of history! We are striving to make this THE BEST CONVENTION EVER and we can do it with YOUR HELP!

Cheers!
Sopnil Bhattarai and the SMA Team
ANMA-NASeA Joint Convention 2008, Omaha, NE.

(P.S.---Feeling more creative? Go ahead and design a banner for us as well. This wouldn't be a contest, but if you feel you want to compliment your logo with a banner, you're more than welcome to do so. The following are the requirements for a banner:

Requirement for Banner
-Banner will incorporate the logo, theme and perhaps images of Omaha/Nebraska.
-Theme will be based on Unity/Peace of Nepalese in the Americas (Phrase will be different).
-Size: Preferably 920px × 150px in dimension
-Choice of Colors (not mandatory, preferable) – Husker Red, Fall Colors (Pumpkin color, Rust)
-Need Design Files (files from actual Photoshop or whatever software is used for scaling purposes)

The following is a link that describes the logo (which is on the upper left corner--the symbol that stays constant throughout the flash animation)

http://www.ana-convention.org/2007/

The banner is constantly changing in this case. You can stick to one if you want. But remember, the banner is NOT the contest. The logo is.)

ANMA/NASeA Press Release 29.08.2008

Nebraska Nepalese Society

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ANMA/NASeA ANNUAL CONVENTION COMES TO OMAHA THIS FALL

Hotel and the Main Venue is Finalized: Convention Will Include Forums and Workshops, Sports and Cultural Events, and a Spectacular Concert

The Association of Nepalese in Midwest America and the Nepalese Association of Southeast America (ANMA/NASeA) holds its joint annual convention at a location in their region. The purpose of this convention is to promote Nepalese culture and to bring the people of the Nepalese community together. For Labor Day 2008, the ANMA/NASeA Board has decided to make Omaha, Nebraska the venue for the convention.

This exciting news has caused a lot of stir and excitement for the Nebraska Nepalese Society located in this booming metropolitan. The venue for this event has been finalized to be the Double Tree Hotel located conveniently in Downtown Omaha.

The convention will begin on Friday, August 29, 2008, and will end on September 1, 2008. Events for the convention range from forums and workshops, to sport events, cultural events, and a spectacular concert by a popular Nepalese artiste or band.

The convention is being chaired by Sushma Manandhar and the committee members include volunteers from within the community who will plan and execute the convention in the next few months. The NNS is hoping to draw in a lot of people because of the central location and the large population of Nepalese in the community.

Convention-goers can register for the convention at the Nebraska Nepalese Society web site (http://nnsociety.org). The registration will begin some time in the near future, and the Society asks convention-goers to check the web site periodically.

###

If you want more information regarding the convention, please periodically check the NNS web site. Want to volunteer? Contact any of the Boardmembers or Sopnil Bhattarai at 402-250-8346 or sopnilbhattarai@creighton.edu
