Nebraska Nepalese Society is as much about Nebraska as it is about Nepal. After all, Nebraska is the second home for most of us and it is the only home we know for some of us. It will definitely be the home of our children and grand children for generations. We do not take Nebraska for granted. As an immigrant community, we do not take the opportunities the United States of America has provided us for granted. We all worked hard to get here and we are grateful to be able to participate in the pursuit of happiness and have our share of the American Dream. We are very thankful to the heartland of America in the land of the free.
But freedom comes with a price. There are men and women out there who are risking their lives every moment to protect and promote our freedom. As a community, it was about time that we pay something back to them. This year we can. We have several brave men from our Nepalese immigrant community in Nebraska who have joined the United States Military. We are so proud of these men that words fail to describe our pride. Our whole community is proud to be associated with them. We want to thank the United States of America for proving our community members the opportunity to serve and protect this great nation.
