Committees and Sub-Committees for 2008
Web Committee: This Committee will be responsible for updating
the website in a timely and accurate manner. This team will work in collaboration
with all the other teams to ensure proper communication of community events/programs.
Currently, this team is working on giving a new look and feel to the existing
NNS website.

Publications Committee: This committee will be responsible
for collecting, reviewing, editing and publishing general public articles, journals,
poems and other publications, ensuring quality and style. This committee will
also be responsible for recommending publications on NNS website that are considered
informational, educational and beneficial to the society/community.

Cultural Committee: This committee will be responsible for
organizing cultural programs and events throughout the year that will showcase
our culture and tradition in a tasteful manner. This committee will also be
responsible in deciding the number of cultural events per year as well as ensuring
that the events promote our culture and tradition This committee will also ensure
that these programs/events are appropriate for all ages, groups and genders
to fit the need of our community. There will be two subcommittees underneath
this committee.
Pooja Archana Committee – Organizing Pooja
and Archana at the temple that fits our custom and tradition.

Cultural Program Committee – Organizing
cultural events. Main events being, Nepali New Year’s Celebration and
Dashain Tihar Sanjh.

Education Committee: This committee will mainly be responsible
for running, but not limited to, the Balkaryakram Program. This committee will
be responsible for choosing and selecting various programs that are educational
in nature, and that fits well with our society’s request in educating
our children and future generations.

Regulations Committee: This committee will be responsible for
recommending policies, procedures and strategies for encouraging and enhancing
the membership program. This committee will be responsible for recommending
policies, procedures and By Laws for the best interest of NNS. This committee
will work on the tax papers, state requirements to comply the 501c3 (non-profit)
status.

Fund Raising Committee: This committee will be responsible
for looking over fundraising programs. It will be involved in initiating, facilitating
and carrying on with creative ways to raise funds for this organization. This
committee will also be involved in reviewing and approving such programs.

Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations Committee: This
committee will be responsible for advertising upcoming events and programs on
NNS website, in collaboration with the Web Committee, and/or by sending/mailing/distributing
flyers in ways that will reach people in our community. They will be responsible
to ensure that communication reaches to all parts, groups and people in our
community and market it in ways that will ensure maximum participation. This
committee shall also seek and encourage interested people to join and become
active members of NNS.

Sports Committee: This committee will be responsible for organizing
sport events that will fit the various age groups in our community. They will
decide on the number and types of sport events that should be run throughout
the year.
